Too hot for Goths

As some of you may know, I live in Hollywood, California, where summer lasts 9 months and the sun is always up!

I hate the heat and the sun in general, I don't like tanning (love my natural medium olive skin tone, I don't want to be mocha-red) and love my skin too much to fry it outside and age like crazy!
This are some of my solutions to protect my hair and skin, while keeping it dark and classy :)

Natural Highlights

Spring is finally here! And before you know it, the sun will be up to enjoy warmer days at the beach. So you better prepare your locks for a beachy, lighter look! Today I have the recipe to highlight your hair naturally, without using peroxides. If your hair is naturally black, don't expect it to turn platinum blonde. It lightens my hair up to 2-3 tones the first time, which for me works just fine.
Enjoy!

Organic Lip Balm

An organic, natural way to keep your lips hydrated and Oh-so-kissable!! Also, you can personalize this recipe with your favorite essential oil or flavors (like your favorite cocktail or dessert), or even make multiple ones! How cool is that? ;) Just make sure you have an empty plastic jar, or little container, to keep it there.

Note: Do NOT try this recipe if you have severe bee allergies!

My {new} daily skin care routine

Hi everyone! Today I want to share with you my skin care routine :) If there is something I'm really proud of, it's my skin! and I owe that to my vegetarian-organic diet! BUT when I first started school I had to put loads of make-up in my face and take it off, and then put everything again, and again! That really gave me breakouts and a little bit of acne (Which I've not had since my teenage years). I was so worried about that so I completely changed my routine and started to pay more attention to what my skin was asking for. After a week of following this -seriously- my skin cleared up completely. I'm so happy my fab skin is back and I really want to share this to anyone who's interested. It worked for me, it would probably not work for you or probably it will, it depends a lot on your skin and diet. All of the products I use on myself are NOT tested on animals, either Vegetarian, Vegan, and/or organic. Also, I don't like parabens or sulfates in my skin! >:-(

A new Life: SLS free!

Lately I've realized that all, absolutely all of my shampoos and soaps have this ingredient in common: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, or similar ones, like Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate. Anyways, I'm not such a chemistry geek, but this SLS (ALS or SLES) is the worst thing that can happen to hair and skin! It's even proven that it's irritant AND cancerigenous if used for long periods of time!!
And why do most firms still use this ultra-dangerous thing on people's shampoos and soap? Because it is cheap. That's it, our health and protection doesn't matter against a cheaper ingredient.
What should we do?
First, start making your own shampoo! and if you're not that crafty or think that's too much work, buy baby shampoo, or check the at  Organic shops to see if there's a bio-shampoo that doesn't contain SLS.
Me? I prefer homemade shampoo. I still don't know how to prepare it, but my boyfriend's mum makes one out of Aloe! You can't imagine how my hair is looking lately! Since the very first day it felt smoother, moisturized and soft! I was like: Oh my! I need to do this often!
In case you feel like making you very own organic shampoo, I'm sharing many recipes I found in Buzzle.com
