"The truth is, there is no 'magic' make-up product. Though some products are superior to others, the 'magic' is in the application"
I'm been in looove with that book for a while, but I've never had the chance to buy it. On that book, which is the sequel from his bestseller "Making Faces", he keeps on showing some tips and tricks of the trade, and make-up looks that go from the really basic/natural to really extreme transformations using only different lip shapes or eyeshadow placement. And that's what I loved about that book! The transformations are AMAZING!!! (I will show you some in the pics at the end of this post) If you are a make-up geek (like me!) or just an newbie in the world of make-up, I really, really recommend you to get both of his books! Besides sharing some amazing tips (from bleaching and shaping eyebrows to contouring a face with cream foundations), and his vision of make-up, he has many step-by-step tutorials to get each one of the looks.
Take a look at some pages:
Gwyneth Paltrow as James Dean
Winona Ryder as Elizabeth Taylor
This is the same girl, (both of them!) from the cover
Martha Stewart (!) as Veronica Lake
Christina Ricci
"They say normally 10% of the human brain is ever used. I believe this is often true of our hearts and spirits as well. (...) I'm not saying that putting on make-up is gonna change the world or even your life, but it can be a first step in learning things about yourself you may never have discovered otherwise. At worse, you could make a good mess and have a good laugh"
